Battlefield 2042 offers unique gameplay elements which exploit the latest PC and platform technologies. The treacherous weather effects aren’t just a plot point either; storms and tornadoes dynamically hit busy areas on the map, forcing players to adjust to new conditions. Battlefield 2042 will be able to operate on low spec hardware, but if you have a powerful PC, you will be able to join in matches with up to 128 players. One of the most significant changes to Battlefield 2042 is the new specialist system, which allows players to customize their loadouts precisely as they want. Players will not be forced to choose an underutilized class in order to use a specific weapon; instead, you can select your favorite weapon to compliment your selected specialist’s unique specialty and attribute. Everything you need to know about Battlefield 2042, including the impending open beta and release date, is right here.

Battlefield 2042 Open Beta start date

The official Open Beta for Battlefield 2042 will be available to early access players starting October 6 / October 7 before it becomes available to everyone starting October 8 / October 9. Early access is available for players who pre-ordered the game or have an EA Play membership. Pre-load begins on October 5. The beta will contain Conquest mode, in which “the action will now take place in sectors composed of multiple flags rather than individual control points.” Orbital, one of the game’s newest maps, will fight players against one another in “hostile conditions as you fight your way around the site of an impending rocket launch.” It will be available on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

HOW TO ACCESS THE OPEN BETA OF BATTLEFIELD 2042

Battlefield 2042 beta access is divided into two phases. For the first two days of the beta (10/6 and 10/7), only those who’ve pre-ordered Battlefield 2042 or have a current EA Play subscription can play. The following two days of the beta session (10/8 and 10/9) will be open to everyone. It’s worth mentioning that you may already have early access to the Battlefield 2042 beta without knowing it. If you subscribe to Game Pass, you automatically receive an EA Play membership, qualifying you for the beta. If you’ve properly configured your EA Play membership, you should be able to access the beta via Origin without issue.

BATTLEFIELD 2042 GAME MODES

Conquest and Breakthrough, two of Battlefield’s most popular game modes, are making a comeback in 2042. Conquest now supports 128 players on PC and contains larger maps that have been optimized for the increased player count. Rather than having individual control points, the action has been divided across many sectors comprised of multiple flags. Breakthrough is unaltered from Battlefield 1 and 5. Two teams, attackers and defenders, struggle over areas of the map. Each sector of the map houses more players than the last, culminating in one previous objective when both teams are storming to win the game. Hazard Zone is a fresh new model that EA describes as a “tense experience that combines edge-of-your-seat gameplay with the best of the Battlefield sandbox.” We don’t blame you for thinking there might be a battle royale mode, but the creators ruled this out in a recent interview with Eurogamer. “We don’t have any battle royale plans at this time,” says Daniel Berlin, Battlefield 2042 design director. “However, we do have other experiences within the game that we can’t talk about that we are incredibly enthusiastic about.” Battlefield Portal – a sandbox-style mode featuring famous maps from the series’ history – is the last game mode. Battlefield Portal supports the game’s seven included battle maps, as well as six classics: El Alamein and the Battle of the Bulge from Battlefield 1942, Arica Harbor, and Valparaiso from Battlefield Bad Company 2, and the Caspian Border and Noshahr Canals from Battlefield 3.

BATTLEFIELD 2042 SINGLE PLAYER CAMPAIGN

For the first time since the introduction of a single-player campaign with Battlefield: Bad Company’s single-player campaign debuted in 2008, the game’s creators have decided against including one in Battlefield 2042. Rather than spending time developing a campaign, the developers focused their efforts on improving the multiplayer mode “since it is what [they] do best.”

BATTLEFIELD 2042 BATTLE PASS CONTENT

Battlefield 2042’s current aim is to provide season-based content, with each season lasting approximately three months. The developers have promised four seasons in the first year of service. A free and paid battle pass, four new experts, and “additional fresh content” will accompany the start of each season. According to other games as a service title, new areas, vehicles, and weapons will most likely be added to the game every few seasons.

BATTLEFIELD 2042 SPECIALISTS

Specialists in Battlefield 2042 provide the classic Battlefield class structure with more versatility, letting players select the type of loadout they wish. Each specialist has a distinct specialty and trait — for example, you can select between gadgets such as a recon drone or a grappling hook. Only four of the games game’s specialists have been revealed, but there will be ten at launch. A fifth specialist is scheduled to be announced at EA Play Live next month, though we’ve already had a sneak glimpse at their wingsuit specialty. You’llYou’ll be able to customize each specialist’sspecialist’s Battlefield 2042 loadout, including their primary and secondary Battlefield 2042 guns, the types of throwable weapons they bring, and whether they’re they’re carrying medical kits or supply boxes.
